چکیده

Abstract Exercise mobilizes angiogenic cells, which stimulate vascular repair. However, limited research suggests exercise-induced increase of endothelial progenitor cell (EPCs) is completely lacking in type 1 diabetes (T1D). Clarification, along with investigating how T1D influences increases other cells (hematopoietic cells; HPCs) and surface expression chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) 7 (CXCR7), needed. Thirty patients 30 matched non-diabetes controls completed 45 min incline walking. Circulating HPCs (CD34 + , CD34 CD45 dim ) EPCs VEGFR2 ), subsequent CXCR4 CXCR7, were enumerated by flow cytometry at rest post-exercise. Counts HPCs, CXCR7 significantly lower the group. In both groups, exercise increased circulating cells. was largely attenuated group, up to 55% lower, (331 ± 437 Δcells/mL vs. 734 876 p = 0.048), (171 342 303 267 Δcells/mL, 0.006) (126 242 218 217 0.040) lower. Exercise-induced possible patients, albeit compared controls. Decreased mobilization likely results reduced migration to, repair of, damage, potentially limiting cardiovascular benefits exercise. Essential but differential role for CXCR4 and CXCR7 in the therapeutic homingof human renal progenitor cells

Recently, we have identified a population of renal progenitor cells in human kidneys showing regenerative potential for injured renal tissue of SCID mice. We demonstrate here that among all known chemokine receptors, human renal progenitor cells exhibit high expression of both stromal-derived factor-1 (SDF-1) receptors, CXCR4 and CXCR7. In SCID mice with acute renal failure (ARF), SDF-1 was str...

Characterization of Circulating and Endothelial Progenitor Cells in Patients With Extreme-Duration Type 1 Diabetes

OBJECTIVE We characterized and correlated endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and circulating progenitor cells (CPCs) with lack of vascular complications in the Joslin Medalist Study in patients with type 1 diabetes for 50 years or longer. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS EPC and CPC levels were ascertained by flow cytometry and compared among Medalists (n = 172) with or without diabetic retinopat...

Metformin improves circulating endothelial cells and endothelial progenitor cells in type 1 diabetes: MERIT study

BACKGROUND Type 1 diabetes is associated with increased cardiovascular disease (CVD). Decreased endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) number plays a pivotal role in reduced endothelial repair and development of CVD. We aimed to determine if cardioprotective effect of metformin is mediated by increasing circulating endothelial progenitor cells (cEPCs), pro-angiogenic cells (PACs) and decreasing ci...

CXCR7 upregulation is required for early endothelial progenitor cell-mediated endothelial repair in patients with hypertension.

Dysfunction of early endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) is responsible for impaired endothelial repair capacity after arterial injury in patients with hypertension. Here, we hypothesized that diminished signaling of CXC chemokine receptor 7 (CXCR7) contributes to the reduced EPC functions, and enhanced CXCR7 expression restores the capacities of EPCs from hypertensive patients. CXCR7 expressio...
